Lester Jackson “Heck” Graham, 84, of Graham, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011. Mr. Graham was born in Jeff Davis County but had lived in Appling County for a number of years. He was the son of the late Marie Graham and the husband of the late Angie Lee “Salty” Graham. Mr. Graham was the retired owner and operator of Graham Logging.
Survivors include his wife, Eula Mae Graham of Graham; sons and daughter-in-law, Carliss and Cynthia Graham of Dalton and Keith Graham of Graham; step-children, Linda and Dennis Williams of Denton and Martin McLoon of Denton; sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Hurley of Snipesville and Ruth Williams of Hazlehurst; brothers, Edward Graham of Bastrop, TX, Henry Graham of Warner Robins, Clifford Graham of Albany; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Merleen Shumans of Hazlehurst; Janelle (Kat) and R.A. Strickland of Graham; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several other relatives survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 in the chapel of Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst with the Rev. David Griffin, the Rev. Steve Toler and Bro. Nathan Deaton officiating. Burial was in Graham United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Johnathon Graham, Dr. Chris Graham, Cavin Graham, Austin Graham, Seth Graham and Dr. David Shumans.
Musical selections were rendered by Jeffery Spell and Bonita Anderson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.
