Mary F. Gurley
Mary F. Gurley, 80, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the Appling Healthcare System. Ms. Gurley was a native and life long resident of Appling County. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Gurley.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Lee Gurley of Gainesville, Holt Gurley and Dorvin Gurley, both of Baxley; caregivers, great-niece, Sara Lott and great-niece, Karen Griffin, both of Baxley and Stacey Beasley of Baxley and nephew, Waldo Lott of Baxley.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment followed in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Timmy Lott, Derrick Johnson, Bryan Griffin, A. J. Carter, Steven Johnson and Justin Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Red Oak Baptist Church and deacons of Midway Baptist Church.
Musical selections were rendered by Floyd Hunter and David Williams.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
