The Appling County Pirates traveled to face the North Oconee Titans in the second round of the GHSA State Playoffs on Friday, November 19. The Pirates would have great support from fans that made the nearly four-hour trip to watch their Pirates get the victory 26-13 and advance to the third round. The Pirates will now be traveling to Barnesville to face Region 4AA Champion Lamar County (12-0) on Friday, November 25 with the game scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
Pictured above is Pirate Jordan Vann (5) watching teammates Byron Buxton (3) and CJ Nails (14) celebrate after Buxton scored on a 91-yard touchdown pass on the Pirates first offensive play. Vann would later score on a 60-yard touchdown pass and Nails would recover a Titan fumble late in the fourth quarter to set up the Pirates final score coming on a lateral by Vann to Buxton.

Hmmmmm.... I might make the trip! Barnesville is a neat small town. Good shopping and good eating!
