The following resolutions that affect local county policies were presented: Appling County return to work resolution, safety coordinator resolution, seat belt policy and workman’s comp resolution. After discussion about the seat belt policy, that would cause an employee to lose his/her driving privileges after a third offense, and the workman’s comp, that would include volunteer firefighters, a motion was made by Commissioner Sarah Boatright, with a second by Commissioner Theodore Wilkerson, to approve all the resolutions. All the commissioners approved the motion. Lewis informed the Commissioners that the resolutions were standard with the Association County Commissioners of Georgia or ACCG.
The minutes from the February 1, 2011 meeting were approved after one change was made.
The Commissioners recognized five local Future Farmers of America (FFA) members from Appling County High School. February 19 through February 26 is National FFA week.
