This past weekend the Lady Pirates went 1-1 in the region 2AA Tournament. On Friday, February 18, plagued with missed free throws, the Lady Pirates lost in overtime to Tattnall County 43-48, despite 23 points from Ashley Jones.

Pirates place third in region tournament
On Saturday, February 19 the Lady Pirates picked up their 20th win of the season defeating Jeff Davis 43-33 while being led by Ashley Jones with 14 points.
The Lady Pirates finished third in region 2AA and will advance to the state playoffs for the third straight season with back-to-back 20 win seasons.
The Lady Pirates will travel to Morgan County to face the Lady Bulldogs on Friday, February 25 for the first round of the AA state playoffs with the start time set for 7:00 p.m. in Madison.
Morgan County finished the season 21-6 overall and second in region 4AA with a record of 15-3. The Lady Bulldogs lost 67-68 in overtime to region 4AA Champion Northeast Macon on Saturday, February 19.

On Saturday Lady Pirates received All-Region honors. Making the First Team All-Region was Ashley Jones. Celecca Fedrick, Briana Gibbs and Briyanna Brantley were named honorable mention.
