Pirates defeat Jeff Davis, lose to Wayne County Yellow Jackets

The Appling County Pirate basketball team was able to defeat the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets 64-45 on Friday, February 11 in Hazlehurst.

With the victory the Pirates were able to account for a one-point loss to the Jackets on December 18 and finish region 2AA play with a record of 3-13. The victory also snapped a three game losing streak to the Jackets.

The Pirates hosted the class AAAA Wayne County Yellow Jackets on Saturday, February 12 with the Pirates losing 45-71.
With the loss the Pirates finish the regular season with a record of 7-16.

Due to having nine teams in Region 2AA the Pirates will play Jeff Davis on Monday, February 14 to decide which team will advance to the Region Tournament.
