Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Program announced
Diane Rogers, Community Services Dept. Head, announces that Concerted Services, Inc., Appling County’s local Community Action Agency, located at 57 Harvey Street will operate the Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Program funded by the Department of Human Resources. Program income guidelines have been set at 60 percent of the state’s median income.
Only elderly (65 and older) and homebound households will be served from November 1, 2011 until November 30, 2011. Applicants must call or come by their local Concerted Services, Inc. Service Center Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., to schedule an appointment. All other income-eligible applicants may call or come by to schedule an appointment beginning December 1, 2011, and will be served if funds are available.
