Ronnie L. Carter, 58, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah. Ronnie was born Aug. 29, 1953 in Appling County. He was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Carter was employed as a house mover for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Carter, a brother, Ricky Conner, grandparents, O. C. and Ocilla Carter and step-father, James Conner.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sherri Carter of Baxley; two daughters, Jessica Carter and Rebecca Carter, both of Baxley; two sons, Eric Carter and Adam Carter, both of Baxley; his mother, Nellie Faye Conner of Baxley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Merlene Carter and Roy and Ava Conner, all of Baxley; father and mother-in-law, Carlton and Sandra Greenway of Baxley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Dunn Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Peeler and Rick Brown officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Mitchell Carter, Bradley Carter, Sean Williams, Brandon Black, Tyler White, Steven Brady, Yates Branch and Chris Lightsey.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Rita Lipthraft and Tarra Boyette.
