Services for the Rev. Levon Russell Vann, 55, who died Oct. 9, 2011 were held Oct. 15 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Graham.
The Rev. L.C. Rogers, the Rev. Melvin Moring and the Rev. Reuben Bennett Jr. officiated with burial in Morgan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Graham.
Mr. Vann was the son of the late Madeline Vann Williams. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School and joined Morgan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, serving faithfully and teaching Sunday School. He was an ordained deacon and later became a licensed minister. He served as pastor of Morgan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was missionary of Montgomery Missionary Baptist Association and President of Second District Union of Montgomery Missionary Baptist Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Vann.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Louis Vann of Graham; three sons, Antonio (Danielle) Horne of Hazlehurst, Corey Jones and Stevie Jones, both of Graham; daughter, Nyesha Horne of Hinesville; brothers, Marion (Roni) Vann of Hazlehurst, Gregory (Renee) Vann of Stone Mountain, Charles Williams of Nokesville, Va., Steve Williams of Atlanta and Charles Wayne Vann of Bronx, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Noel Horne, Kizzes Sanders, Dewayne Matthews Jr. and Josh Wreek and a host of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Richard Conaway, Gabvile “Dee” Williams, Kerry Williams, Freddie Hill, Kelvin Moody and Spencer Cox.
Honorary pallbearers were Ramon Fisher, Ronald Johnson Jr., Lee Willie Vann, Keith Hill, Carlos “Lanny” Fisher and Michael Vann.
