Most people come to a Rodeo to root for the cowboys and cowgirls to do well in their event. But there are some people just contrary enough to want the bull or bronco to buck their rider off and send him home empty-handed. At the Baxley Lions Club Rodeo on Friday and Saturday, October 28-29, at the Tri-County Fairgrounds, the bulls will try to make even those people happy.
T-bar-T Ranch in Waycross is providing the livestock for the Rodeo. Their top bull, Hot Chocolate, has a performance score of 96. This means that for every 100 riders, only 4 have been able to stay on for the required 8 seconds! Bulls are assigned to their riders at random, only two hours before the event. Hot Chocolate could be a mixed blessing. The rider who gets him will probably be bucked off; however, if he does stay on, he will receive a very high score.
But bulls have feelings, too. Hot Chocolate wants to keep his “I’m The Bull To Be Beat” reputation. And he is raging mad that his horns have been filed down! Come to the Baxley Lions Rodeo and root for Hot Chocolate to keep his record intact.
Proceeds from the Rodeo go directly to the Baxley Lions Club for its benevolent activities. The Lions Club motto is: We Serve.
