Maranda Garie Deal of Bristol and Phillip Richard Ward of Screven were united in marriage Friday, September 9. The wedding took place at 7:30 p.m. at Miles Landing in Appling County with close family in attendance.
A wedding reception will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 23 at Rose Cottage, 130 Griffis Road, near Screven.
Mrs. Ward is the daughter of Gary and Suzanne Deal of Bristol. She is the maternal granddaughter of the late Imogene T. Griffin and the late Milton H. Griffin and the paternal granddaughter of Thetus P. Deal of Patterson and the late Leary C. Deal.
She is a 2008 graduate of Pierce County High School and is currently attending the College of Coastal Georgia in pursuit of a nursing career.
Mr. Ward is the son of Rick and Tonya Ward of Screven. His maternal grandparents are Alinda and Joe Earl Godwin of Screven and his paternal grandparents are Raymond Ward of Tennessee and the late Virginia Ward.
He is a 2002 graduate of Wayne County High School and currently attends College of Coastal Georgia pursuing a degree in math. He is currently employed by the Appraisal Shop in Screven.
Invitations for the reception honoring the new couple have been mailed. All family and friends are invited to attend.
