This past week Appling Christian Academy Eagles traveled to Hardeeville, South Carolina to play the Abundant Life Cougars. It was perfect weather for football and the Eagles played a great game. They came out with a 58 to 0 victory. This was the first time in Eagle history that they beat the Cougars in South Carolina.

Eagles defeat Cougars 58-8
The Eagles defense had a very good game. The second string also played the second half. John McLemore and Cole Livingston were the leading tacklers. Bryant Phillips also had a sack. Andrew Phillips and John McLemore displayed very good pass coverage and both had interceptions.
The Eagle offense played a very good game. Josh Day stepped up and had an excellent game at left guard. Luke White also got back to play right tight end. Andrew Phillips had a very good running game with seven carries for 133 yards at tailback. Ben Hiers had six carries for 32 yards at fullback. Brandon Horton had seven out of nine passes for 114 yards. The second offense also played good the second half and Cole Livingston had a touchdown pass to Luke White with help from the eighth and ninth grade linemen.
This victory now makes the Eagles 6-0 and we give God the glory for it and hope He keeps blessing us this season.
Next week the Eagles play Peoples from McDonough on Thursday night at 6:00 for Homecoming at Eagle Field at Crossties. Hope to see you there.
