Dear Editor,
My name is Jodi Phillips, I reside in Reidsville, and I am employed as the office manager for Nunez Pine Straw in Baxley. I have been working here since the end of May. In the few short months that I have been here, I have noticed a lot of stray dogs being left for the animal shelter, which is located directly behind our office. In the past month, there have been four puppies left and they run around our office as well as the mobile homes searching for food.
I was able to take one of them to the shelter one day when I saw the Animal Control officer driving by. (I had called the day before about it and he never stopped by.) A week later, there were two more puppies here, fortunately, I, myself was able to find them homes! Today, there is another one. I have not seen the Animal Control officer go by our office since last week. I can hear the dogs in the back barking whenever employees go to the water treatment plant.
