Charles Glendon (Pee Wee) Stone, 70, of Enterprise, AL, died Saturday, August 18, 2012. A native of Appling County but had resided in Enterprise, Alabama for the past 16 years. Pee Wee was born Aug. 18, 1942 in Appling County and was the youngest of 13 children and was the last surviving child of the late Jesse T. Stone and Lilly Mae Reeves Stone. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Enterprise, AL.

Loretta King Waldron
Annie Loretta King Waldron, 85, of Manor, died Wednesday evening (August 22, 2012) at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Brantley County to the late Zibe King, Sr. and Alice Roberson King and was the fifth child of nineteen children. It was on her family’s farm where she learned about hard work. At a young age she would cook for the family and help tend to all of her younger siblings. Mrs. Waldron graduated from high school at the age of 16 and began working at the shipyards in Brunswick. She lived in Waycross for many years and managed the Dairy Queen in Waycross for sixteen years and also worked at the Dairy Queen in Homerville for fifteen years. Mrs. Waldron moved to Manor in 1990.

DEATH AND VISITATION NOTICE
Tammy "Baby Girl" Thompson passed away on Wednesday, August 23 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27 at 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at David E. Miles Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Odum City Cemetery.

Martha Miller Aulds, 82, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at her residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice. She was preceded in death by her son, Willie Lee McDonald.

Angelia Miles Britt
Angelia Miles Britt, 63, died Friday morning at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Born in Alma, she was a 1966 graduate of Jeff Davis County High School and attended Brewton Parker College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hazlehurst and made Metter her home for the past thirty-five years. She enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable garden, was a fan of dirt track stock car racing and Nascar. She was a caring homemaker devoted to her family and especially enjoyed family time spent at the beach.

Wesley Griffin, Jr.
Wesley Griffin, Jr., 76, died Friday, August 10, 2012 in Appling Healthcare System. Griffin was born Jan. 29, 1936 in Appling County to the late James “Jim” Washington Griffin and the late Sadie Johnson Griffin. He was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church. Wesley was a logger with Wallace Carter and Sons for many years.

Louise Arnold Haynes, 94, died Friday, July 20, 2012 in Satilla Hospice House in Waycross. Louise was born June 30, 1918 in Appling County and had resided here all of her life. She was retired and had worked with Ship-n-Shore Manufacturing. Ms. Haynes was a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick “Boozer” Arnold and sisters, Lois Williams, Beatrice Vaughn, Opal Davis, Sallie Claxton and Martha Thorpe. Louise was the daughter of the late Patrick Arnold and the late Bessie Mobley Arnold.

William Jefferson “Bud” Williams, 68, of Lowgap, North Carolina, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in North Carolina. Bud was born May 30, 1944 in Appling County. He was of the Baptist Faith and was the owner and operator of Carolina Communications. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Williams, a brother, J. M. Williams and half-sister, Verna Jean Bennett.

Florence Hutcheson, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 in Appling Healthcare System. Miss Hutcheson was born July 20, 1920 in Montgomery County to the late William Spencer Hutcheson and the late Ophelia Claxton Hutcheson. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Florence was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Hutcheson and three sisters, Lucy Hutcheson, Elevener Lynn and Willie Anne Toler.

James Cuthbert (Dink) Morris
James Cuthbert (Dink) Morris, 87, of Valdosta, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born in Appling County, on May 25, 1925 to the late Benjamin James (B.J.) and Leone Dunn Morris and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Morris was a member of the Benevolence Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was retired from Owens-Illinois in 1986 after thirty-one years of service and loved farming, raising cattle and tending to his cats. Morris was a compassionate man who loved people and was always willing to help anyone in need.

DEAN RUSSELL “RUSTY” OSTEEN
Dean Russell “Rusty” Osteen, 49, of Surrency, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at his residence. Rusty was born Nov. 14, 1962 in Alma but had resided in Appling County all of his life. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was a Highway 144 volunteer firefighter. A brother, Lavan Osteen, preceded him in death.

Princess Hayven Da’Miracle Breontae Shaw was born Feb. 22, 2011 to Bridgette Sailem and Deon Shaw. Princess Hayven enjoyed going to church, being outdoors and Baby Einstein. She died Aug. 5, 2012. Her paternal grandfather, Danny Dasher, Sr. preceded her in death.

James Larry Wilson, 67, of Surrency, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at his residence. Larry was born Oct. 17, 1944 to the late James Burl and Edna Kelly Wilson. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Wilson was retired from the mobile home industry after 43 years as owner and operator. He was an avid Nascar and Georgia Bulldog fan. He was an entrepreneur, member of several social and business organizations, proud father, father-in-law, grandfather and great friend.

Jim Bush, Senior
Jim Bush, Sr., died July 24, 2012 at his residence at 331 Yellow Pine Circle in Baxley. Jim was born Jan. 26, 1939 in Appling County and had resided in Lakeland, FL for 33 years before moving to Baxley in June of 2012. He was a retired truck driver and was employed with Inicial Uniform Company before his retirement. Jim was of the Church of God Faith. He was the son of the late Major Bush and the late Hattie Lou Hutcheson Bush.

Inez Dyal
Inez Dyal, 84, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Appling Healthcare System. Inez was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Appling County to the late Evans Altman and the late Roxie Varnadore Altman. She was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church and was faithful in the Ladies Senior Adult Sunday school class, the WMU organization and a Vacation Bible School Teacher. Mrs. Dyal achieved various awards of dedication and craft ribbons. She was a devoted wife of 62 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a wonderful cook, seamstress, personal friend and caretaker. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Lorace Dyal and two sisters, Wilma Dyal and Lucile Bratcher.
