At a meeting of the Appling County Board of Commissioners, held Tuesday, September 2, board members voted to establish a road paving priority list for the county. The list was established during a work session meeting held August 26. The commissioners agreed to the following roads to be paved including (listed in order) Hunter Road, S. Main Street (Surrency), Memphis Crosby Road, Jeffrey Turner/Harris Road, Henry Thomas Road and James Kent Road.
Local businessman and property owner James Cook thanked the commissioners for including Memphis Crosby Road in the priority list. Cook stated that this would benefit his business and citizens immensely.
The commissioners also agreed to allow County Manager Lee Lewis to move forward with seeking bids for these road projects.
