Rain or shine, we continued with plans for Winter Wonderland on Saturday, December 7, and enjoyed another year of snow, crafts, and fun. The City of Baxley and Chamber of Commerce funded and organized the event, but the real work was provided by community volunteers. Winter Wonderland would not be possible without the one hundred plus volunteers that have come back year after year with a smile on their faces to help ice cookies, make jingle bell necklaces, skewer marshmallows, help children sled on the snow covered slopes, and risk limbs in the snow ball zone. This year’s volunteers and workers included representatives from Boy Scout Troop 472, local banks, businesses, church groups, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, Chamber board members, firemen, the City Public Works crew and so many more.
