Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.

April 19, answered a call to Patterson Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A girlfriend and a boyfriend had an altercation, which led to the arrest of Joseph Tyrone Gray, 30, of Baxley. Gray was charged with disorderly conduct. [Full Story »]

Superintendent Scarlett M. Copeland, Transportation Director, Richard Riddle and the Appling County Board of Education are proud to announce they have obtained two Blue Bird propane fueled school buses. Appling County School System is only the second in the State of Georgia to have propane fueled buses and the first system in South Georgia. The Superintendent and Board of Education have made a long-term commitment to provide students in this system with the best in transportation while being highly cost effective with local funding for fuel. All Christians in Appling County are encouraged to unite together as one Body on Saturday morning, May 4, at 9:00 a.m. to begin a Celebration Walk beginning at the Ernest Parker Park (old Jr. High) and ending at the Baxley Church of God with a Prayer and Worship Service, which should end around 11:00 a.m. The Walk will begin with prayer by the Rev. Johnny Blair of First African Baptist Church and stops will be made along the way to pray at the Courthouse, Hospital and Board of Education and finishing at the Church of God with the service.
