Baxley Police Chief James Godfrey gave a report to the Baxley City Council at its last meeting on July 9, updating them on the recent activity of the Baxley Police Department. The report comes on the heels of the eight burglaries mainly on Holmesville Avenue and Anthony Street and in response to the residents that came before the city council at the June 27 meeting. Godfrey stated the officers of the Baxley Police Department have been very busy since the last meeting. He stated the police department executed a search warrant at 207 Holmesville Avenue and as a result they have confiscated several items, T.V.’s, air conditioners and other items.
