23rd Annual Tree Fest slated for April 12-13
The 23rd Annual Baxley Tree Fest is set to begin at the end of this week, beginning on Friday, April 12 with “The Root Doctors” performing at the Street Dance from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 13 the festivities continue with different attractions such as Tree Trek, a turtle race, a pedal cart race and an autograph signing by Tommy and Joe of History Channel’s Swamp People.

Herndon named 2013-2014 System Teacher of the Year
Patricia Ann Herndon has been named Appling County’s 2013-2014 System Teacher of the Year. Ann Herndon is a native and resident of Appling County. She is the daughter of Patricia Mills and the late Franklin Mills.
