The Appling County Sheriff’s Office will host a basic handgun safety class in the month of July. This class will be conducted by Chief Deputy Mark Melton and Superintendent Linton Deloach of the Department of Corrections, as well as other certified firearms instructors. The classes are basic so that everybody who attends can feel comfortable and know that we will not be providing any information that is beyond their individual comprehension level.
The classroom portion of the training will be conducted on a Thursday night, July 28, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Appling County Sheriff’s Office. Students should not bring any gun or ammunition to this portion of the training.
We will conduct the second portion of the training on the following Saturday morning, July 30, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Baxley Police Department Range.
If you are interested in attending, it is required that you respond directly to Mark Melton at the Appling County Sheriff’s Office, 912-367-8121 to advise him of your desire to attend.
