Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
July 1, answered a call to Beatrice Lane in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated she and the known offender got into an argument and the offender damaged the complainant’s vehicle.
July 1, answered a call to Golden Isles West in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated unknown person(s) broke a window to the door and stole a fireplace insert. Investigation continues.
July 1, answered a call to U.S. Highway 1 North in reference to a theft. The complainant stated person(s) unknown stole 300 feet of wire from an irrigation pivot and stole the wire from the control panel of the pivot. Investigation continues.
July 1, answered a call to Cauley Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated he and the offender got into an argument and the offender hit him over the head. The complainant was transported to the ER and didn’t want to press charges.
July 2, answered a call to Sara Baker Road in reference to simple battery. The complainant stated known offender jumped on her during the night. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
July 2, answered a call to Heritage Bank in reference to a theft. The complainant stated a known offender stole his ATM card and took $500.00 from his bank account. Investigation continues.
July 3, answered a call to Gerald Eunice Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated person(s) unknown stole a pull along weed eater and a sprayer tank. Investigation continues.
July 3, answered a call to Rock Lake Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated a known offender broke into his camper stealing multiple items. Christopher Owen Byrne, age 28, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with burglary.
July 3, answered a call to Gail Street in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated known offender shot at a juvenile with a BB gun. The juvenile was turned over to his mother. The offender was gone upon arrival.
July 4, answered a call to Midway Church Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated she and the offender had got into a verbal argument. The complainant and offender were separated.
July 4, answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated a known offender stole a money order for $260.00. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
July 5, answered a call to Zoar Road in reference financial card fraud. The complainant stated person(s) unknown used her Belk’s card to purchase more than $100 worth of items. Investigation continues.
July 5, answered a call to the ER in reference to a stabbing. The complainant stated that his brother bought a knife and began to play with it. Victim was struck in the right forearm.
July 5, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated person(s) unknown went into his residence and stole several guns, WII games, WII controller, and a Nintendo DS. Investigation continues.
July 5, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that person(s) unknown went to his body shop and stole a golf cart. Investigation continues.
July 6, answered a call to Graham Zoar Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated the known offender was intoxicated and tearing up the house. Van Walker, age 45, of Baxley, was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct and Lisa Walker, age 42, was arrested and charged with battery.
July 6, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a theft. A complainant stated person(s) unknown stole a laptop from the maintenance support building. Investigation continues.
July 6, answered a call to Claxton Road in reference to a domestic. A complainant stated she and known offender got into an argument. The complainant advised she would leave and return the next date.
July 7,answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated he and known offender got into an argument. Both parties were gone upon deputy arrival. The deputies later located the complainant and spoke with both parties.
July 7, answered a call to Eula Courson Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated a known offender came to her residence and then later she noticed two rings missing. Investigation continues.
July 7,answered a call to Graham Church of God in reference to a theft. Person(s) unknown had taken an air conditioner from the premises. Investigation continues.
July 8,answered a call on Old Surrency Road in reference to damage to property. Person(s) unknown had damaged a mailbox.
July 8, answered a call on Lewis Seab Road in reference to damage to property. Person(s) unknown had damaged a mailbox.

July 8, a routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1 South/Miles Road resulted in the arrest of Christopher McNeil, age 40, of Baxley. McNeil was charged with VCGSA-ecstasy, open container, and taillight requirement.
