On Tuesday, June 28 the Board of Education called a meeting at Captain Joe’s. Chair Stewart Reeves called the meeting to order and then welcomed everyone. Superintendent Scarlett Copeland and Chief Financial Officer Adrienne Taylor reviewed the supplement options Governor Deal previously proposed. Due to austerity cuts, the supplement for Appling County’s school system will come from local funds. CFO Taylor went on to discuss the total changes to the Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) budget and reviewed a budget comparison.
