Estefania Escamilla, age six, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the Appling Healthcare System. She was born August 17, 2004 in Evans County and had resided in Glennville. Estefania was in the first grade and attended Tattnall County Elementary School.
Survivors include her mother, Sandra Bermudez and step-father, Marco Rojas of Glennville; her father, Antonio Ivan Escamilla, of Glennville; two brothers, Victor Manuel Gonzalez and Antonio Ivan Escamilla, both of Glennville; grandparents, Eustolia Valenzuela and Francisco Bermudez; aunt and uncles, Mike Gulbrandson and wife, Irma of Baxley, Cristino Escamilla; and six cousins, Olga Escamilla, Michell Escamilla, Anel Escamilla, Francisco Escamilla, Holly Gardner and Aiden Escamilla.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with Father Rafael Estrada officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
The choir of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church rendered musical selections.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
