Miles-Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Charles David “Preacher” Branch, age 74, who passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was a native of Jacksonville, FL. He was a United States Air Force and United States Army Veteran. He retired from Bell South after 31 years; was the Choir Director and Sunday School Superintendent at Faith Baptist Church and an ordained Pastor.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Branch; mother, Margaret Crews; brother, the Reverend William Bill Branch; two brothers in-law, John C. Pete Griffin and Malcolm Griffin; a sister in-law, Marilyn Branch; several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Ann Griffin Branch of Baxley; four daughters, Candice Branch of Baxley; Tonya Smith of Suwanee, Stacy Branch of Martinez and Shelli Dubberly and husband, Brandon of Baxley; one son, Ricky Morris, Jr. and wife, Kayla of Baxley; six grandchildren, Josh Smith, Darienne Coleman, Bryn Coleman, Jaden Dubberly, Tate Morris and Jace Morris; three sisters, Anita Ursua of California, Ruth Harris of South Carolina and Maudella Goodwin of California; seven special brothers in-law, Wendell Griffin and wife, Alene, Randall Branch and wife, Cathy, Harry Griffin and wife, Joan, Cecil Griffin and wife, Karen, Richard Griffin, Tim Griffin and wife, Sandy and Carlos Griffin and wife, Julie; five special sisters in-law, Mary Ellen Smith, Sarah Boatright and husband, Ronnie, Janie Sue Cummings, Donna Parlor and husband, Tim and Carolyn McMillian and husband, Mitchell; a special aunt, Minnie Lee Davis; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Gary Conger, the Reverend Dennis Lewis and the Reverend Phil Keeter officiating.
Interment followed in the Carter Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Branch lay in state one hour prior to services on Sunday.
Visitation was held Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church.
