Mayor Steve Rigdon recently proclaimed the month of April as Cancer Survivor Month in the city of Baxley. From April 1 through May 6 will be considered Paint the Town Purple Days in honor of cancer survivors. By Painting the Town Purple, the Appling County Chapter of the American Cancer Society not only wants to honor survivors, but remember those who lost their battle to cancer by promoting cancer awareness, and to give individuals and communities an opportunity to fight back against cancer.

In the weeks to come the Appling Co. Chapter Relay for Life will be out selling purple bows for ten dollars. If you’re interested in purchasing a bow please call 366-9668 or 278-4305. Most of all let’s show our Baxley and Appling County support to our survivors!
