Miles-Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Alla Mae Stone Elton, age 83, who passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Meadows Park Rehab in Vidalia. She was born in Appling County on March 11, 1932. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Baxley and was employed with Steel Structures for the past 35 years. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Elton; parents, Pete and Howard Evans Stone, a brother, Herschel Stone and a sister, Martha Faye Stone Beckworth.
Survivors include two daughters, Karylan Webb and husband, Myles, of Vidalia and Marylan Timblin and husband, Walter, of Baxley; a son, Mitchell Stidham and wife, Carrie Ann, of Baxley; two brothers, Dennis Stone of Pooler, and Charles Stone of Baxley; six sisters, Mary Addie Pilkinton of Eulee, FL, Dale Millwood of Forsyth, Linda Hutchinson of Bloomingdale, Barbara Aycock of Newnan, Kathy Putman of Warner Robbins and Bonnie Spell of Baxley; five grandchildren, Bryan Youmans, Gwen Morris, Stuart Timblin, Eric Stidham and Libby Fox; three great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Miles-Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Buddy Coss and the Reverend Tommy Daniels officiating. Musical selections were handled by David Williams.
Interment followed in the Omega Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to funeral services.
Active pallbearers were Eric Stidham, Stuart Timblin, Daniel Fox, Thomas Garnes, Wayne Branch and Aaron Stone.
Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends in attendance.
The family would like to extend a kind thank you to the staff of Meadows Park and Affinis Hospice in Vidalia.
