Miles-Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Herbert J. “Bill” Campbell, age 78, who passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Oxley Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation under the care of Community Hospice.
He was a native of Pikeville, KY living in Baxley since 1981. He was a retired Vocational Teacher at Appling County High School and a Baptist by faith. He served in United States Airforce and the Air National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Metilda Martin Campbell.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, June Campbell of Baxley; one son, Stewart Craig Campbell and wife, Linda of Baxley; one brother, Berry Richard Campbell of Dandridge, TN; two sisters, Bobbie Ann Dixon of Phoenix, AZ and Rosemary Dingus of Cynthania, KY; three grandchildren, Ashley Carter, Dillon Bass and Dustin Campbell; two great grandchildren, Cason Carter and Colton Carter; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandhill Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Karl Sexton and the Reverend Brian Gill officiating.
Interment followed in Sandhill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday, November 2, 2015 form 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers were Alan Stalvey, Alan Stephens, Steven Allen, John Allen, Tony Merritt and Dillon Bass.
Honorary pallbearers were Community Hospice, Frank and Loretta Miles and Diane Hallman Brock.
