Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
June 19, answered a call to Surrson Street in reference to a fight. The victim stated that a fight had broken out and shots were fired. The deputies cleared the crowd and the group moved to the Huddle House. No other information was given.

June 19, answered a call to Surrson Street in reference to an assault. The complainant stated known offender came up to him and hit him. They then stepped outside and the other known offender jumped on him. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate in reference to warrants.
June19, answered a call to Nail Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated he and his wife got into an argument and she pushed him and he fell into the pine straw box and cut his left arm.
June 20, answered a call to Gardner Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated that the known offender grabbed her and it scared her so she left the residence. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
June 20, answered a call to North Main Street in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated person(s) unknown damaged a mailbox. Investigation continues.
June 21, answered a call to Eula Courson Road in reference to harassing phone calls. The complainant stated the known offender continues calling and harassing her. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
June 21, a routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1 North resulted in the arrest of Michael Chase Howell, age 27, of Baxley. Howell was charged with theft by taking, suspended license, obstruction of officer and D.U.I.
Sheriff Deloach asks that if anyone notices any suspicious activity please report it to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office at 367-8120.
