Helen Ray Dyal, 83, died Monday, June 20, 2011 in the Pavilion. Mrs. Dyal was born August 23, 1927 in Appling County to the late Lewis Ward Artemus Jackson and the late Della Irene Herrington Jackson. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church where she was active in the Mary Wheeler Sunday School Class and served on the hostess committee and flower committee. Helen was a member of the Frankie Parker Homemakers Club. Her husband, Harvey Dyal and four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Krisan Dyal of Baxley; two grandsons, Jeffrey and Justin Dyal of Baxley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at Zoar Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Wigley and Greg Rentz officiating and the eulogy given by Justin Dyal. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeffrey Dyal, Justin Dyal, Jeremy Bennett, Chris Knight, Josh Knight, Keith Herrington, Richard Thompson, Zack Harrell and Carroll Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were staff of the Pavilion, Southern Care Hospice, Mary Wheeler Sunday School Class of Zoar Baptist Church, Dr. Orlando Fernando and Dr. Errol Graham.
Musical selections were rendered by Claire Tanner and Tamala Folsom.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
