The Appling County Board of Commissioners has passed a “Burn Ban” that is effective immediately.
“We are asking that citizens refrain from any type of open and container burning until the current drought conditions ease,” states a news release from the county government.
Also, due to drought conditions, the Appling County Board of Commissioners have cancelled the upcoming fireworks display that was scheduled for July 2. The display will be held later in the year once drought conditions improve.
There will be activities offered at the Max Deen and Ernest Parker Recreation Park pools on July 4. For more information please call the Appling County Recreation Department at 912-367-8190.
