Sheriff Benny Deloach reports the following incidents handled by deputies with the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.
On January 18, answered a call to Don Hall Road in reference to a dog case. The complainant stated his/her dog was sick and was taken to a veterinarian, who stated the dog was poisoned. The dog died.
Jan. 21, answered a call to Hwy. 144 in reference to damage to property. An unknown person damaged the complainant’s mailbox.
Jan. 22, answered a call to Antioch Church Road in Bristol, in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated an unknown person had damaged his mailbox.
Jan. 22, answered a call to Caney Creek Lane in reference to a theft. The complainant stated an unknown person took his county trash can.
Jan. 22, answered a call to WA Stone Road reference to a theft. The complainant stated an unknown person took one roll of #9 wire valued at $400.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 24, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a financial card fraud. A complainant stated an unknown subject had made over $600.00 in transactions from her checking account from Florida. Investigation continues.
Jan. 24, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a financial card fraud. The complainant stated an unknown subject had made two debit card transactions from Miami, Florida, from her checking account. Investigation continues.
Jan. 24, answered a call to Gardner Road in reference to identity fraud. The complainant stated an unknown person opened an account with Dish Network in her name.
Jan. 24, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft. The owner of a 1971 Volkswagon took the vehicle to a subject’s residence back in 2008 to be repaired. Vehicle was recently sold without owner’s permission.
Jan. 25, answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to an unruly juvenile. A grandmother and granddaughter had an altercation. The granddaughter left the residence walking. The juvenile returned home later.
Jan. 26, answered a call to Lake Mayers Road in reference to a prowler. The complainant stated a subject was in her back yard. Upon officer arrival, the subject had left.
Jan. 26, answered a call to Hwy. 121 in reference to malnutrition of a horse. The owner of horse stated to an officer with the Georgia Agriculture Department she could no longer afford to feed the horse. Owner did release ownership over to the sheriff’s department for placement of horse.
Jan. 27, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report threats. Two fathers were arguing over their son and daughter dating.
Jan. 27, answered a call to Corinth Cemetery Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated on his farm was missing a trailer loaded with aluminum irrigation pipe valued at $1,500.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 27, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft on Golden Isles West. Taken from residence was a Craftsman sweeper valued at $300.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 27, a routine traffic stop on Hwy. 15 resulted in the arrest of Anthony Lee Adams, age 30, and Roger Leon Adams, age 28, both of Jacksonville, Florida. Anthony Adams was charged with speeding, open container and possession of marijuana less than one ounce. Roger Adams was charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
