Wyatt Rafael Nail, the son of Rafael and Robin Nail of Baxley, is the 2015 Appling Christian Academy Salutatorian. He has attended ACA for fifteen years. Wyatt is an Honor Graduate while completing his high school career with a 4.0 GPA.
In January, he was honored as ACA’s STAR Student for the 2014-2015 school year. Wyatt was a member of the ACA Honor Society for four years and served as co-president his senior year. He was a member of the school basketball team for six years and has been a member of the ACA band for four and one-half years where he played the saxophone. Wyatt sang with the school’s choral ensemble for one year. He was awarded the “Most Likely to Succeed” superlative award both his junior and senior years and the “Diligent Hands” superlative award his senior year. In addition, Wyatt earned the rank of Eagle Scout this past year.
Among his many accomplishments, Wyatt was awarded the prestigious Honor Society Outstanding Service Award this year and numerous highest academic subject awards. He had the highest academic average for two consecutive years in his high school career. As part of his work toward his Eagle Scout Award, Wyatt headed up a major landscaping program at his school. In addition, he has participated in Operation Christmas Child and the annual honor society community food drive.
Wyatt will receive several academic scholarships including the Satilla EMC Scholarship and the Zell Miller Scholarship. In athletics, Wyatt was recognized as the Best Defensive Player. He has received the “God and Church Boy Scout Award” and the Bronze and Gold Eagle Scout Palms. Wyatt is an active member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Episcopal Church. He has one brother, Ashby, who is a sophomore at Appling Christian Academy. Wyatt plans to attend the University of Georgia where he is interested in pursuing a degree in sports/broadcast journalism and hopes to have a career in the world of sports.
