Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 1, answered a call to Earl Cauley Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated that a known offender came to her residence and threatened to burn her house down and kill everyone inside. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate judge.
Deloach gives update on recent activity
June 1, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to a fire. The offender was burning some trash and got to hot. The offender was transported to the Appling Healthcare Emergency Room and the Baxley Fire Department responded to put out the fire.
June 1, answered a call to Henry Ryals Road in reference to criminal trespassing. A complainant stated unknown person(s) went onto her property and removed the siding off of her trailer and stripped out all the copper wire in the trailer leaving all her personal belongings exposed to the weather. Investigation continues.
June 1, a routine traffic stop on East Dukes Street resulted in the arrest of Joseph Dewayne Carter, age 34, of Surrency. Carter was charged with VGCSA and suspended license.
June 1, answered a call to Luke Griffis Road in reference to fraud. The complainant stated he was selling a vanity on E-Bay and the offender was told to send the money and when the check was cashed the check was not good. Investigation continues.
June 1, answered a call to McDaniel Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated he left his C-Pap machine at a friend’s residence and when he returned the house had burned and burnt his C-Pap machine.
June 1, answered a call to Clemons Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated that she and the known offender got into a verbal argument. The complainant was advised to see an attorney.
June 1, a routine traffic stop on Brobston Street resulted in the arrest of Latonya Byrd, age 40, of Baxley. Byrd was charged with D.U.I., driving while unlicensed and no taillight.
June 1, answered a call to Cooper Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated person(s) unknown came to his residence and stole a trailer with copper wire loaded on it. Darrell M. Beecher has been arrested in reference to this case.
June 2, answered a call to Patterson Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated known offender came to her house and told her he wanted to buy the van, but wanted to test drive it first. The van was never returned. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
June 2, a routine traffic stop on Ben Carter Road resulted in the arrest of Glenn McDaniel, age 39, of Baxley. McDaniel was charged with D.U.I.
June 3, answered a call to VFW Club Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated known offender had the VFW’s beer and wine license and would not return it.
June 3, answered a call to Patterson Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated a known offender tried to run her over while she was on the golf cart. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
June 3, a routine traffic stop on Highway 341 West resulted in the arrest of Jamel Malcolm Anthony, age 24, of Hazlehurst. Anthony was charged with possession of marijuana and defective or no headlights.
June 4, answered a call to East Hart Street in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated he and the offender got into an argument and the offender got mad and took her clothes outside and set them on fire. Upon officers arrival Sherry Reddish, age 25, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
June 4, a routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1 North resulted in the arrest of Christopher Trai McCall, age 19, of Baxley. McCall was charged with VGCSA and speeding.
June 5, a routine traffic stop on Troy Murray Road resulted in the arrest of Coley Lenderman, age 28, of Baxley. Lenderman was charged with D.U.I. and tail lights required.
June 5, answered a call to Don Hall Road in reference to trespassing. A complainant stated a known offender came into his yard and tried to enter his residence. The complainant asked the offender to leave multiple times. Elder Lopez, age 40, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing.
June 5, answered a call to Nail-Mobley Road in reference to vehicle in the ditch. A complainant stated the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the ditch. The vehicle was towed.
June 5, answered a call to McLeod Circle in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that a known offender stole her cell phone and wouldn’t return it. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
June 5, answered a call to Piney Bluff Road in reference to a vehicle in the ditch. A complainant stated the vehicle had been run partially into the ditch and was blocking oncoming traffic. The vehicle was towed.
June 5, answered a call to Alvin Moody Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated a known offender entered his residence and stole a shotgun. Investigation continues.
June 5, a routine traffic stop on Spruce Street resulted in the arrest of Christopher Michael Moore, age 29, of Baxley. Moore was charged with possession of drug related objects and no insurance.
June 5, answered a call to McClure Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a known offender came to his residence and stole a 1989 Chevrolet Camero. Investigation continues.
June 6, answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated person(s) unknown slung a rock up and busted her windshield.
June 6, answered a call to Curtis Tillman Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated person(s) unknown went into his spouse’s vehicle and stole her driver’s license, debit card, checks, credit card, cash, and social security card. Investigation continues.
June 6, answered a call to Miles Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated after being given permission by the DOT workers to continue on down the road gravel got into her vehicle and brake pads causing damage.
June 7, answered a call to VP Lynch Road in reference to a dog bite. A complainant stated that while rolling the trashcan to the road three dogs started barking at her. The black dog bit her on her left ankle causing swelling.
June 7, answered a call to Jekyll Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a known offender was paid in 2009 to do some work at her residence and has not showed up to finish the work.
Investigation continues.
June 7, answered a call to James Kent Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated that she and the known offender got into a verbal argument and he was trying to put her out of the residence. Both parties was separated and advised to see magistrate.
June 8, answered a call to Lewis Sead Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated known offender(s) entered his residence and stole $100.00. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
