Mary Juanita “Nita” Walsh, 58, of Baxley, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her residence.
Walsh was born December 10, 1956 in Appling County to the late Elmer Carter and the late Erris Juanita Bullard Carter. She was a waitress at B and F Restaurant and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chandler Alexander.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Walsh of Baxley; daughters, Tina (Brian) Crosby and Christy Griffin both of Baxley, Kristi (Eric) Butler of Hazlehurst, and Lisa Spell of Brunswick; sister, Wanda (Bill) Reynolds of Baxley; brothers, Ronnie Carter and Eric Carter both of Baxley; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin McLellan and the Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment followed in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Reynolds, Ronnie Spell, Harry Griffin, Donnie Rentz, Bill Reynolds and David Dukes.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of B and F Restaurant, employees of Hazlehurst Mills Team Mates, Kenneth and Pat Reynolds, Joan Higgins, Raymond and Kathy Crosby, Elizabeth Crosby, Wendy Thompkins, John and Tina Pearson, June Bratcher, Pam Dukes, Mitchel and Carolyn McMillan, Ronnie and Sarah Boatright, Nell Bullard, Debbie Hunter, Mary Ellen Smith, Charles and Ann Aldridge.
Visitation was held Friday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
Musical selections were rendered by Glynda Reeves.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
