Gayle Williams Page, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Augusta.
Gayle was born January 21, 1946 in Wayne County to the late Otis Felton Williams and the late Odine Dudley Williams. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a former member of Sardis Baptist Church. She retired from Burke County School System as a paraprofessional and was a former employee of TexGas Corporation in Baxley. Her proudest achievement was being Nana to her grandchildren and many special grandchildren she kept.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Page of Baxley; daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Donnie Carter of Baxley; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Steven and Paula Page of Grovetown; four grandchildren, Trudi Elizabeth Carter of Baxley and Abbi, Emma and Will Page of Grovetown, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Ross, the Rev. Dennie Waters and the Rev. Bobby Brinkley officiating. Interment followed in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jamie Williams, Victor Williams, Rodney Williams, Russell Griffin, Dion Griffin and Durwin Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers were the Senior Adult Sunday School of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Bobby and Rachel Edenfield, Cindy Williams, Jason and Mandy Williams, Melvin and Marian Griffis, Julia Claxton, Jerry and Rhonda Fry, Dale and Ann Smith, Randy Adams, Mike and Tish Smith, John and Cathy Godfrey, Dr. Orlando Fernando and Staff, Dr. John and Kathy Salazar, Sardis Baptist Church Night Circle Members, Dr. Bunja Rungruang and Rodney and Christy Sellers.
Musical selections were rendered by Cheryl Weaver, Bryan Weaver, and Tina Smith.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
