Rowland and Cosby speak vows at St. Simons Baptist Church
Ashley Brooke Rowland and Justin Daniel Cosby were united in marriage on April 30 at 5:30 in the afternoon at First Baptist Church, St. Simon’s Island. The Rev. Dr. Randy Neal DeLoach performed the double ring ceremony.
Brooke is the daughter of Brenda Rowland of St. Simons Island and Foster Rowland of Baxley and Justin is the son of Dawn Cosby of Washington and Danny Cosby of Rayle.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a custom designed Casablanca strapless gown of ivory champagne satin with a delicate beaded lace overlay. The sheath silhouette featured a scalloped semi-chapel length train, which extended over the satin sweep train. She wore in her hair a sidepiece of open netting, which featured flowers, embellished with crystals and pearls. The bride’s bouquet was a European hand tie of mini cream callas accented with cream hydrangeas and French wired ribbon.
The matrons of honor were Brittany Ann Crotty of St. Simons Island, sister of the bride, and Melissa Biddar Lancaster, of Okeechobee, Florida, friend of the bride.
Bride’s attendant was Hayden Danielle Cosby, of Washington, sister of the groom. The matrons of honor and attendant wore a black taffeta v-neck dress with sash accented with crystal drop pendant necklaces and crystal cluster earrings and carried European hand tie of cream hydrangeas accented with French wired ribbon.
Serving as best man was the groom’s father, Danny Cosby.
The groomsmen were Lewis Pearce Brown III of Washington, and Wesley Allen Waller of Athens.
The Rev. Gigi Naeve, pianist and June Bennett, soloist, rendered musical selections.
After the beautiful ceremony, an exquisite reception followed at the Casino Atrium, St. Simons Island. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Ocho Rio, Jamaica.
A rehearsal dinner was held at LePapillon, East Beach, St. Simons Island (Low Country Boil) hosted by the groom’s parents, Dawn Cosby and Danny Cosby.
A Mexican fiesta and a couple’s shower were held prior to the wedding, including a bridesmaid’s luncheon at Brunswick Manor.
Brooke and Justin reside in Union Point.
