Pauline Lawrence, 84, of Baxley, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at her residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice. Mrs. Lawrence was born January 26, 1930 in Appling County to the late William Curtis Collins and the late Velma Hopkins Collins. She was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Luther Lawrence and a grandson, James Shipes, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Kathryn Finerson of Memphis, TN and Joy and John Cardwell of Hazlehurst; four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas L. and Sheryl Lawrence of Baxley, Paul Lawrence of Memphis, TN, John and Rhonda Lawrence and Jim and Tonya Lawrence, all of Baxley; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Cosmo Glass of Lake Wales, FL and Kathryn and Leonard Flanagan of Baxley; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Elaine Collins of Vero Beach, FL, Wendell and Sue Collins of Ft. Pierce, FL, Maxie and Elvie Jean Collins of Hazlehurst, Bill and Candy Collins of Indian Lake Estates, FL, Kenny and Pat Collins of Statesboro and Troy and Linda Collins of Baxley; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Taylor of Dothan, Al, Mable and Herbert Rentz of Baxley, Delcie Lawrence of Macon; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were Thursday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Teutsch, the Rev. Allen Rea and the Rev. Rick Brown officiating.
Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Sean Heath, Dean Collins, Darrell Sellers, Reggie Lasseter, Terry Rentz and Larry Branch.
Musical selections were rendered by Kristin Worth, Kelly Shipes, and Debra Youmans.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
