Nina Paulk Williams, 87, native of Appling County and resident of Long County, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness. Nina was born on May 27, 1927 to the late Andrew Paulk and Susie Givens-Paulk in Baxley. She was educated in the Appling County School System and spent most of her life as a homemaker occasionally working outside the home as a bus monitor for Long County Board of Education as well as farming and gardening. Nina became a member of First Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Baxley, at an early age before becoming a member of New Historical Elem Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici. Her favorite past times were cooking, quilting and spending quality time with her family.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Andrew and Susie Paulk; her loving husband, Jessie Williams; a daughter, Ella Volcy; four sisters, Fannie Mae Paulk, Sarah McHenry, Geraldine Shavers and Annie Alston; and three brothers, George, Ephraim and Willie Paul.
Nina was a kind and loving person that saw some good in everybody and will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Nellie Pippen (Carl) Hinesville, Andrea Ann Coleman (Emanuel), Dayton, Ohio, and Lisa Williams, Ludowici; five sons, Billie Elvis Williams (Earnestine), Ronald Williams and Randy Williams, all of Ludowici, Earl Williams (Cynthia), Jesup, and Flint Williams (Vonnie), Baxley; two brothers, Elton Paulk, Morganton, N.C. and Ozell Paulk (Faye), Norwalk, Conn.; one sister-in-law, Estene Paulk, Bryan, Texas; 21 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28 at New Historical Elem Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 301, Ludowici, GA from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29 at First Pleasant Hill Church, 26 Pleasant Hill Church Road, NE, Baxley. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Ludowici.
Final arrangements entrusted to Royal Funeral Home, Inc. of Jesup.
