Mary B. Hutcheson, 74, of Baxley, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Hutcheson was born December 25, 1939 in Appling County to the late Clayton Butler and the late Sarah Clois Mixon Butler. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and retired from insurance sales. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Hutcheson and a son, Jamie Hutcheson.
Survivors include son, Jeffery L. Hutcheson of Baxley; sisters, Geneva Walker of Perry, FL, Laverne Butler Hardy of Baxley, Latrelle Colson of Hazlehurst, and Rhonda Stringfellow of Perry, FL; brother, Tony Butler of Baxley; grandchildren, Brandon Hutcheson, Amber Hutcheson, Morgan Hutcheson, and Amanda Hutcheson; eight nieces and nephews and special friend, Mary Mixon.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy with the reverends Dannie Hix, Kenny Hutcheson, Karl Sexton, and Charles Hutcheson officiating. Interment followed at the Baxley Graveyard.
Mrs. Hutcheson lay in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Visitation was held Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Phillip Woods, Justin Kapp, Johnnie Jackson, Tony Arcuri, Allen Stephens, and Harley Spires.
Musical Selections were rendered by Sandra Long, Jerry Kersey, the Rev. Karl Sexton and Rodney Carter.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
