Renesa Latonji Lawton Reynolds, daughter of James Green and Leverdia Green, was born June 7,1976 in Appling County. Renesa departed this life and transitioned into eternal rest on July 15, 2014.
She graduated with the Appling County High School Class of 1995. Renesa was employed by the Appling Healthcare System for many years. She was a very quiet spirited and humble person. She was also a very hard worker and a pillar of strength. Renesa never complained despite all of the obstacles she faced in her life. She was affectionately known as “Neesie.”
The following relatives preceded her in death: her brother, James T. Green; paternal grandparents, Willie Lawton and Essie Mae Lawton; maternal grandparents, Booker T. Davis and Venice Davis.
Survivors include her loving and devoted daughter, Seterria Reynolds of Baxley; parents, James and Leverdia Green of Baxley; husband, Cedric Reynolds of Baxley; sister, Katrice Green of Albany; grandmother, Alice Davis of Baxley; nephew, Jeremiah Emanuel Hall; aunts, Teresa Cash, Vera McCall (Wardetha), Ida Williams, Melvia Green and Virgia Green, all of Baxley; uncles, Arnold Davis (Mildred), Jerry Davis, Stanley Davis (Latrell) and Freddie Green, all of Baxley, Dennis Green (Dorothy) of Douglas; great-aunts, Claria Russell and Willie Lee Allen, both of Baxley, Jenethel Burke (Harold) of Atlanta, Tinnie Lee Williams and Gladys Brantley, both of Philadelphia, PA, Mary Johnson and Dora Griner, both of Springfield, MA; great-uncle, Benjamin Davis of Baxley; mother-in-law, Melba Ryals of Baxley; special brother and sister, Lorenzo Cash and Selina Keith. She also leaves behind a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held for Renesa “Neesie” Reynolds at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19 from Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Reynolds presiding. Eulogy was given by Bishop Lucious C. Rogers. Interment followed in Old Field Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Lorenzo Cash, Chauncey Keith, Rashad Hall, Norris Gibbs, Chadrick Davis and Jerry Davis, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were the Appling County High School Class of 1995 and the Appling Healthcare System staff.
Musical selections were rendered by Stephanie Byrd, Tammy Richburg, Gwen Ryals and the choir.
