On Thursday, May 29, 2014 I had surgery at the Appling County Hospital. The surgery was to remove a mass on my left buttock and was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Butler. I had discovered the mass a couple of weeks earlier and made an appointment to see Janey Britt, Nurse Practitioner, for Dr. Errol Graham, who is my local “doctor”. “Doctor” Britt ordered an ultrasound and the day after my having the ultrasound, she advised me of the contents of the pathology report and recommended I see Dr. Butler. He was able to see me that day fortunately, and after looking at the mass on a device that appeared to be a computer, showed it to me and told me it, “had to come out.” Of course any “mass” is a word most of us don’t want to hear. Dr. Butler immediately scheduled the surgery for May 29 and explained what he would do and what I would need, including someone to drive me.
