Sandra Lula “Sandy” Carter, 69, of Baxley, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. Carter was born March 1, 1945 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Durant Weeks and the late Lula Seals Weeks. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter was a retired Seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Colvin Carter of Baxley; two daughters, Regina Benton of Boiling Spring, S.C. and Kim Carter of Inman, S.C.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Rena Goforth of Chattanooga, TN, Kevin and Amanda Carter and Blake Carter, all of Baxley; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Alicia Weeks of Greenville, Texas; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Beecher and the Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating. Interment followed in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Andy Harrelson, Randy Harrelson, Brandon Harrelson, Curtis Hallman, Jeff Pearce and Aaron Williamson.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends in attendance.
Music was by the Rev. Rick Brown
Visitation was held one hour prior to funeral service.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
