Nea Cothern and Greg Thomas and Connie are proud to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ansley Elizabeth Thomas, to Lance Ernest McCarty, son of David and Joan McCarty.
The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of David and Betty Cothern. She is the paternal granddaughter of Pat and Sue Thomas. Ansley is a 2008 graduate of Appling Christian Academy in Appling County. She is also a 2013 graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University with a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. She is presently employed at Appling Christian Academy as a kindergarten and first grade teacher.
The groom-elect is the maternal grandson of the late Milton and Velera Douglas and the paternal grandson of the late Ernest and Lucy McCarty and the late Noreen McCarty Barber.
He is a 2006 graduate of Bacon County High School and also a 2011 graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems. He is currently employed with Satilla REMC as an accountant.
The wedding ceremony will be held Saturday, June 14 at 6:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Church on Highway 203 in Alma. A reception will follow the ceremony. No invitations will be sent but all family and friends are invited to attend.
