Arthur Williams, Jr. was born on Sept. 13, 1930 in Baxley to the late Arthur Williams, Sr. and Hazel I. Williams. He attended the local schools in Appling County. He worked as a supervisor at Plant Hatch in Baxley with Southern Company Services until his retirement after working over 25 years. He was a member of Thankful New Jersey Missionary Baptist Church, but later joined Greater Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Baxley, under the leadership of his son, Pastor Norris Williams, Sr. He served there faithfully until he entered into eternal rest on April 26, 2014.

He was not only a father and grandfather to his immediate children, but he was father and grandfather to many of his nieces and nephews.
