Swain Funeral Home announces the death and funeral services of Dorothy Ann Etters, 70, of Baxley, who died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center.
Dorothy Ann was born Sept. 4, 1943 in Baxley and was the daughter of the late Rev. Louis Wadis Hampton and the Rev. Mary Burke Hampton. She was preceded in death by her spouses, Clinton Hoyat Gray, Sr. and Freddie Lee Etters, Sr. She was a member of Cornerstone Church and a former employee of Appling HealthCare System.
Survivors include one daughter, Christi Gray of Baxley; two sons, Clint Gray of Baxley and Freddie L. Etters, Jr. of Brunswick; her mother, the Rev. Mary L. Hampton of Baxley; one sister, Joann Hatcher of Baxley and eight grandchildren.
Funeral service was held from Baxley Church of God at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27 with the Rev. Lamar Lee, Rev. Jamie Jackson and Rev. Walter Langdon officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the chapel of Swain Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Justin Nabors, David Haynes, Andy Fallin, Keith Fallin, Mark Kamalakis and Brandon Porter.
Honorary pallbearers were the members of Cornerstone Church.
Musical selections were rendered by Tyler Gray and the church choir.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
