Hoyt Blanton, 78, of Savannah, died Friday, March 28, 2014 in Candler Hospital in Savannah.
Blanton was born February 22, 1936 in Appling County to the late Jim Blanton and the late Viola Kimberly Blanton. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Savannah. Blanton was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired Market Manager for Winn Dixie.
Survivors include his wife, Sweetie J. Blanton of Savannah; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Michael North of Statesboro; granddaughter, Justice North of Statesboro; brother, Wayne Blanton of Brunswick. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Locklear and the Rev. Art Tarver officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Musical selections were rendered by Jerry Kersey and Gail Dixon
Active pallbearers were Andrew Kersey, David Kersey, Randall Kersey, Mark Peacock, Al Meadows and Dale Dixon.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
