Sheriff Benny DeLoach reports that on March 22 deputies of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office answered a call to Sarah Baker Lane in reference to an assault with a knife, which led to the arrest of Rhonda Jo Crosby, 46, of Baxley. Crosby was charged with aggravated assault.
On Mar. 22, answered a call to James Stanfield Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown subject-(s) entered a residence through a window and took a BB gun and fishing clothes. Investigation continues.
Mar. 23, a routine traffic stop on Kate Mann Road led to the arrest of Jimmy Sylvester Perry, 50, of Baxley. Perry was charged with possession of marijuana and littering on highway.
Mar. 24, answered a call to Manning Williams Road in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was registered to an Illinois driver and was found in the ditch with damage. The vehicle was towed due to being abandoned.
Mar. 24, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to allegations of possible child molestation. A complainant stated a fifteen-year-old female was touched inappropriate by a twenty-seven-year-old male. Investigation led to the arrest of Diego Orlando Gonzalez, 27, of Baxley. Gonzalez was charged with simple battery.
Mar. 24, answered a call to Appling ER in reference to a four-wheeler accident on Old Field Cemetery Road that occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. A four-year-old male child had a fractured arm as a result of the accident. Investigation continues.
Mar. 24, answered a call to Bud Miles Road in reference to a civil dispute. A complainant stated she had a court order for a neighbor’s mobile home to be moved from her property as of that day. The neighbor was advised to get an extension from the court or work problems out with the landowner.
