Miles-Nobles Funeral Home announces the death of Genevieve E. Murray who passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County. She was a retired seamstress from Douglas and Harper and a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Cleta Mae Eason and sister, Dorothy Eason Kimberly.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeff Murray and wife, Shelia, of Kountze, TX and Joe Murray and wife, Felicia, of Surrency; six grandchildren, Amber Forse, Tammy Jordan, Randy Jackson, Jessica Murray, Nicole Castille and Austin Castille; 12 gxreat-grandchildren, Magen Jordan, Mallory Jordan, Calynn Wright, Jayce Forse, Ryleigh Forse, Kaylee Jackson, Kyler Jackson, Chandler Jackson, Randi Jackson, Jesse Osteen, Isabella McCumber and Sanibel Tyler; one brother, James Eason and wife, Laverne, of Baxley; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Visitation was held Saturday, March 8,6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Williamson and Elder Thomas Kelly officiating. Interment followed in Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Earl Eason, Stephen Carter, David Barber, Dustin Johnson, Adam Osteen and Jimmy Harrell.
Honorary pallbearers were the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.
