Marjorie Devereaux Westberry, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 18, at Golden Living Center.
Westberry was a native of Appling County and the daughter of the late Gus Parker Devereaux and the late Henrietta Ridgdill Devereaux. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a member of DAR and Daughters of the Confederacy. Westberry retired from Civil Service Contracting Office with Ft. Stewart. She was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Devereaux and sister, Janice Sisson.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Gary Bennett of Odum; son and daughter-in-law, Deen E. and Cheryl Westberry of Jesup; three brothers, Olvid Devereaux of Surrency, Bryant Devereaux of Forsyth and Joe Devereaux of Surrency; and five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20 from the Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derek Hobbs officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Keith Bennett, Kelly Lightsey, Mark Wingate, Gary Moore, Jr., Ted Kicklighter and Lester Stanfield.
Visitation was one hour prior to the funeral service.
Musical selections were rendered by Ashley Smith.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
