Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
May 9, answered a call to Nell Head Drive in reference to threats. A complainant stated that a known offender kept texting and making threats.
May 9, a routine traffic stop on Jekyll Road resulted in the arrest of Christopher Elmore, age 23, of Baxley. Elmore was charged with D.U.I., driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana.
May 9, answered a call to Red Oak Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a known offender stole a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle was later involved in a wreck and recovered.
May 9, answered a call to Michael Lake Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that an unknown person(s) stole a red faded color Lincon welder, a Black and Decker belt sander and a torch with a long torch head on it and the gages. Investigation continues.
May 9, answered a call to Hungry Lion in reference to a theft. A complainant stated the offender pumped $10.02 in gas and drove off. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate judge.
May 10, a routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1 North resulted in the arrest of Antonio Sanchez Nails, age, 28, of Baxley. Sanchez was charged with possession of marijuana, loud music, suspended license, and tail light violation.
May 11, answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that person(s) unknown took some copper wire off of some light poles he had stored it on his property and several 55-gallon steel drums. Investigation continues.
May 11, answered a call to Lamar Crosby Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated an unknown person(s) took two window air conditioning units from her residence. Investigation continues.
May 11, answered a call to Creosote Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated that she and the offender had been fighting. Chrislon Deshun Solomon, age 20, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with simple battery.
May 11, a routine traffic stop on Poor Robin Road resulted in the arrest of Zachariah Fenton, age 17, of Baxley. Fenton was charged with possession of marijuana, suspended license, and no seatbelt.
May 12, answered a call to Appling County Emergency Room in reference to a dog bite. The Complainant stated that a dog came into the yard and bit her child on the forehead.
May 12, answered a call to Sumner Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that a known offender stole some scrap metal from his residence. Donnie Lane Beverly, age 23, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with theft by taking and criminal trespass.
May 12, answered a call to Moody Cemetery Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated she and her husband had got into an argument. The complainant left the residence and the offender was unable to be located.
May 12, answered a call to Highway 144 in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated that person(s) unknown entered the property and damaged the house using a heavy yellow pipe. Investigation continues.
May 12, answered a call to Hatch Parkway in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated person(s) unknown entered his residence and took a metal fire proof box containing a variety of old coins, $3,000.00 cash, a social security card, and wallet with an unknown amount of money. Investigation continues.
May 12, answered a call to Hosea Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a known offender took an ammo container containing tools. Investigation continues.
May 13, answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated she and the offender got into a verbal argument and he then backed into her vehicle. The complainant stated she left the residence and the offender later came and cut a hole in her pool.
